As the hero, you receive the Power of the Gods, allowing you to fight the monsters. But one day, the Demon Lord suddenly appears, and starts stealing the faces of the inhabitants and unleashing monsters, throwing the once peaceful world into chaos. The game takes place in Miitopia, a world where Mii are living peacefully. Oh, and don’t forget: a playable demo is currently available from the Nintendo eShop! It lets you play through the beginning of the game, allowing you to see what Miitopia is all about. You could have two Mii fight in the middle of a battle, for example!įinally, Nintendo reveals that the game is compatible with amiibo: you can tap of the 26 compatible amiibo and get a special costume based on the character scanned! Slices of Bread?… Err… check!īut it’s not just the enemies that are funny: your Mii have their own personalities, and you’re definitely going to get some very special reactions from them in battle. Those become even funnier when it’s Mii based on people you know that are at the center of them all! Space Goblins? Check.

Naturally, battles are not your usual RPG battles: those in Miitopia are pretty comical, with funny situations arising all the time. You can also buy them some weapons, give them some food at the inn (which increases their stats), increase their bonds with each other, and more. Also: their bonds deepen as they battle together, and they can even become good friends. All characters get some, but you can also chose to give some bonus XP to a specific character if you want. Your Mii become stronger when they battle, as they earn XP and level up (which allows them to lern new skills, and more). In Miitopia, you basically observe your Mii during their adventure, and support them any way you can (by grabbing a Mii and putting it in a safe spot during a battle, for example). Here’s some examples of scenarios you could come up with:

You can even choose some Mii online, if you want! Don’t want to bother doing that manually? No problem: the game has a feature that does it automatically, so you can go on your little adventure as soon as possible. To populate the game with Mii, you can transfer them from Tomodachi Life, Miitomo, or create them yourself. You can choose to go on an adventure with your friends in order to save the kingdom from your evil mother, for example… The possibilities are, quite simply, endless, and no doubt this will give birth to some really wacky stories. The website reveals that the world of the game is entirely inhabited by Mii: that goes for yourself and your party, but also the townspeople, the King, the Princess, the Demon Lord, and more. Together with the Mii of your friends, family, or even celebrities, you go on a grand adventure filled with… let’s say… “unique” events. Miitopia is a RPG unlike any other RPG, as the hero is you… or rather, your Mii.
